This time we recorded our latest album "Like the Sea, constantly moving - constantly drowning" completely live. And not in a modern studio with underfloor heating, acoustically perfect rooms and comfortable sofas in every corner, but in an old barn, where we made ourselves somewhat comfortable for three weeks. The hay crane was converted into a diffuser for the drums, an empty silo was miked up and mixed in as a natural reverb, and the stored firewood stacks contributed to the acoustics.
But our main aim with this recording was something completely different, besides producing a great new record: simply having a great time together, the recording should feel like a band holiday on our own doorstep - and we managed that with flying colors.
These three brilliant weeks have resulted in an album that will put the listening habits of die-hard Stepfather fans to the test. Stay tuned!
